Private Transfer from Port of Miami to Key Biscayne

A private transfer to or from Port of Miami and Key Biscayne covers 10.2 miles (16.4 km) in about 27 minutes by black SUV via the Rickenbacker Causeway, at a flat rate from $140 per vehicle. Book once and your bilingual driver tracks the ship, loads the cruise luggage, and drives you straight through, door to door.

How Much Does a Private Transfer to Key Biscayne Cost? 🎫

Each price below is for the whole private vehicle on a one-way journey to or from the cruise terminal.

  • Black SUV for up to 5 passengers: $140 USD
  • Van for 6 to 9 passengers: $180
  • Van for 10 to 14 passengers: $220

Port of Miami → Key Biscayne: The Quick Facts 🧭

  • Port of Miami to Key Biscayne runs 10.2 miles, about 27 minutes.
  • The Rickenbacker Causeway is the only road onto Key Biscayne.
  • Black SUV seats up to 5 passengers with cruise luggage.
  • Private Sprinter vans carry 6 to 9 or 10 to 14 riders.
  • Drivers meet your group curbside right at the cruise terminal.
  • Driver details and license plate arrive by text the day before.
  • Service runs 24/7, year-round, with 5-plus years on the road.

Best Way to Get from Port of Miami to Key Biscayne? 🚢

The easiest way is a private car reserved for your group and waiting at the terminal exit. You pick the vehicle that matches your party, and the driver handles the route and the bags. A black SUV takes up to 5 passengers with their cruise luggage; a private Sprinter van seats 6 to 9, and a larger private van seats 10 to 14 for bigger families or a full cabin group. Book online or over WhatsApp at least a day ahead, send your ship name and terminal, and your driver meets you curbside as you clear customs — no line, no app hailing, no walking to a distant lot. From there it is one straight ride to the island, dropped right at your door or building. This is a private transfer, so the vehicle is yours alone from terminal to Key Biscayne.

How much luggage fits in the SUV or van?

Each passenger travels with 1 checked bag plus 1 carry-on, and there is room for standard cruise luggage. Have extra or oversized bags? Message us on WhatsApp before the trip and we confirm the space or size you up to a larger private van, so nothing gets left curbside.

Why Book Your Cruise Transfer With Us? 🏆

The vehicle is reserved for your group alone — no shared ride, no strangers, no extra stops. Your rate is a flat price locked at booking, so a jump in demand or a slow stretch of traffic never changes what you pay. Every driver is bilingual, speaking English plus Spanish or Portuguese, which smooths the whole meet-up after a long sailing. You book straight over WhatsApp and obtain a real person, not a queue: the day before your journey, the driver’s name, the vehicle model, and the license plate are texted to you with pickup instructions. On the day, the driver helps load and unload the cruise bags and drives you door to door. For cruise passengers moving with kids, tired legs, and a tight schedule, that reserved, organized pickup is the difference between a smooth start and a scramble.

How Long Is the Drive from PortMiami to Key Biscayne? ⌛

The drive covers 10.2 miles (16.4 km) in about 27 minutes, off-peak or peak. Key Biscayne sits close to the cruise terminals, and traffic on this short route stays fairly steady through the day, so your journey window barely shifts between a quiet morning and a hectic afternoon. Departure timing is the bigger variable. On heavy disembarkation mornings, when several ships clear at once, the terminal roads and the causeway approach fill up, which can stretch the first few minutes of the journey before you reach open road. Your driver watches the ship’s actual clearance and times the pickup to the real crowd rather than a guess. Once you are rolling, it is a quick, direct run over to the island.

Does disembarkation traffic add time?

It can. When three or more ships debark together, the terminal exits and causeway approach get busy, adding a few minutes to the start of the trip. Because the driver tracks your ship and times the pickup to the real crowd, the wait happens on the driver’s clock, not yours.

What’s Waiting for You on Key Biscayne? 🗺️

Key Biscayne is a laid-back island neighborhood off the Miami mainland, trading the downtown rush for palm-lined streets, broad beaches, and peaceful water. The mood is upscale and residential, with low-rise oceanfront living, marinas, and a slow, resort-like pace once you cross onto the island. You will locate open beaches, shaded picnic areas, biking and walking paths, tennis, and casual waterfront dining, plus protected parkland at the island’s southern tip where the shoreline runs wild and quiet. It is a favorite escape for families and anyone who wants sand and sea without the crowds of the busier Miami beaches. To plan your time, browse the island’s beaches, parks, and oceanfront before you sail.

Where’s a good area to stay near Key Biscayne?

The island itself has oceanfront lodging with a quiet, resort feel, which suits travelers who want beach access right outside the door. If you would rather be near nightlife and dining, the Brickell and downtown Miami areas sit back across the causeway on the mainland and stay lively into the evening.

What is there to do on Key Biscayne?

Spend the day on the beach, swim the calm water, or rent a bike and ride the shoreline paths. The state park at the island’s tip has trails, picnic spots, and a historic landmark. There is also tennis, kayaking, and relaxed waterfront dining when you want to slow down and eat by the sea.

Which Private Vehicle Fits Your Group? 💼

Pick the private vehicle that matches your party — every tier is reserved for your group only.

  • Private black SUV: up to 5 passengers with cruise luggage — the go-to for couples and small families.
  • Private Sprinter van: 6 to 9 passengers, with room for bags and a comfortable middle-size group.
  • Private Sprinter van: 10 to 14 passengers, right for extended families or a full cabin group traveling together.

What Does the Flat Rate Include? 🎁

The rate covers tolls, SunPass, and fuel — there is nothing extra to settle for the road itself. Onboard WiFi runs through a mobile hotspot, so you can text ahead or catch up online during the ride. The driver helps load and unload your cruise luggage at both ends. Courtesy waiting is built in: 30 minutes at the cruise terminal from the agreed pickup time while you clear customs and gather bags, and 15 minutes for hotel pickups; beyond that window, extra waiting is billed in 30-minute blocks. If you require to change or cancel, a full refund applies with 48-plus hours notice, and within 24 hours of pickup the booking is non-refundable.

Are child seats and pets available?

The first child seat is free for a child under 5; each additional child seat carries a small fee confirmed at booking. Small pets are welcome with advance notice on WhatsApp, carried in a pet carrier for the ride. Message us the ages and any pet details when you book so the driver arrives ready.

What is not included in the fare?

Food and drinks, parking costs, and unscheduled stops fall outside the rate. Driver gratuity is optional and always appreciated but never required. If you would like a short stop nearby, arrange it in advance and we will accommodate it — a small fee may apply depending on the request.

Stocking Up Before the Crossing 🗺️

Shopping on the island runs to a small village centre and little more, so parties renting a house often add a supermarket stop while still on the mainland side. Ask for that while the booking is being arranged rather than on the morning itself, and the extra minutes are built into the run.

How Do You Pay for the Transfer? 🏦

You can pay by Venmo, Zelle, or a secure payment link sent over WhatsApp or through the website; card and link payments carry a 4% bank fee. Full cash payment at pickup is not accepted, though the balance owed to the driver on journey day can be settled in cash. Everything is arranged before you sail, so there is no fumbling for money after a long day at sea.

How does the round trip and deposit work?

A round trip is simply double the one-way price for the same vehicle. For a pickup starting at PortMiami or elsewhere on the Miami side, a 50% deposit confirms the booking and the remaining 50% is paid to the driver on trip day. Reverse-direction pickups from farther areas such as Broward or Palm Beach require full payment in advance.

What If My Ship Arrives Behind Schedule? 📲

Your pickup is re-timed at no extra cost when your ship docks late. The driver tracks the ship’s real arrival and disembark timing, so a delayed berthing never costs you the ride or a rebooking. Just walk off when you clear; the driver is already adjusted to the terminal’s actual clearance time.

Where Will the Driver Meet Me at the Terminal? 📌

Your driver meets your group curbside right as you exit the PortMiami cruise terminal. Request a name sign in advance on WhatsApp and the driver holds it at the pickup point so you spot them fast. Thirty minutes of courtesy waiting is included from the agreed time while you clear customs and collect your bags.

Can I Be Picked Up on Disembarkation Day? 🕒

Yes — disembarkation-day pickups are the core of what we do, available 24/7 year-round. Book at least 24 hours ahead so your driver is assigned; under-24-hour requests are still reviewed manually, though availability is not guaranteed. On the day you leave the ship, the driver meets you as you clear the terminal and heads straight to Key Biscayne.

Is the Fare Priced Per Person or Per Vehicle? 💲

The fare is per vehicle, not per person — your whole group rides for the one price listed in the fare section above. Whether one passenger or five share the black SUV, the cost is the same, so larger groups journey for less each. A round journey is simply double that one-way amount.

Is There a Fee for Late-Night Pickups? 🌃

Daytime pickup hours run 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM with no surcharge. A pickup scheduled outside that window carries a small surcharge, applied by vehicle type as shown below.

  • SUV (1-5 passengers): +$20 USD surcharge per trip outside daytime hours.
  • Van (6-14 passengers): +10% surcharge over the trip value for trips outside daytime hours.

Why us instead of Uber or Lyft?

A Drop Inside the State Park 📌

The parkland at the southern tip is entered through a staffed station rather than an open road, so say whether you are heading for the beach, the lighthouse end or a picnic area. That station charges by vehicle at the gate, and like parking anywhere else it sits outside the transfer fare.

Yes. Our drivers help load and unload your bags.
